چکیده
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a chronic on spectrum that has an array of management options ranging from lifestyle changes, acid suppressive therapy to laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery (LARS). Transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) endoscopic procedure in the GERD re-establishes and augments gastroesophageal flap valve (GEFV). TIF appropriate for patients do not have hiatal hernia greater than 2 cm. Patients with cm option either conventional LARS (laparoscopic repair complete or partial fundoplication) concomitant TIF, known as (cTIF). This white paper summarizes published outcome data 2.0 cTIF date outline best practice approaches including patient assessment, selection, cTIF.

Transoral incisionless fundoplication: current status
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) performed with the EsophyX device (Redmond, Washington, USA) is a totally endoscopic procedure with the objectives to mechanically repair a defective gastroesophageal valve and to reduce small hiatal hernias. The recent publication of randomized controlled trials and long-term follow-up data offers the opportunity to reevaluate this ...

A 71-year-old woman who had a family history of esophageal cancer presented with symptoms of chronic heartburn. The patient expressed interest in definitive treatment, declining long-term medical therapy and opting to undergo transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) (●" Fig.1). This was accomplished by using the EsophyX Device (EndoGastric Solutions, San Mateo, California, USA). Before and a...

PURPOSE This study aimed to assess the impact of transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) on patients with chronic gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) at 12-month follow-up. METHODS Clinical outcomes of 100 consecutive patients with chronic GERD who underwent TIF between January 2010 and February 2011 were analyzed. RESULTS There were no major complications reported. Esophageal acid e...

Transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) has been used for endoscopic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). TIF using the EsophyX device system (EndoGastric Solutions) was designed to create a full-thickness valve at the gastroesophageal junction through the insertion of multiple fasteners; it improves GERD, reduces proton pump inhibitor use, and improves quality of life. Alth...

Jehovah's Witness patients pose a unique surgical challenge due to their refusal of transfusion of whole blood or major blood products. One of the surgical strategies is to offer the least invasive approach with the least likelihood of losing blood. In the context of surgical treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, endoluminal approaches such as transoral incisionless fundoplication repre...
